Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Screencast (the "Service"), a Chrome browser extension and related web services provided by SPACEFOX UNIPESSOAL LDA ("we", "us", "our"). By installing, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. The Service
Screencast is an AI-powered screen recorder delivered as a Chrome extension. It allows you to capture your screen, camera, and microphone, and to process recordings with AI features including automatic editing, cinematic zoom, multilingual dubbing, and cloud sharing.
2. Eligibility & account
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. You are responsible for any activity that occurs under your account and for keeping your credentials secure.
3. Acceptable use
- Do not use the Service to record people or content without the legal right to do so.
- Do not upload content that is unlawful, defamatory, infringing, harmful, or that violates third-party rights.
- Do not reverse engineer, decompile, or circumvent the Service's security features.
- Do not use the Service to generate spam, malware, or to interfere with other users.
- Comply with all applicable laws, including privacy and data-protection laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
4. Your content
You retain all ownership rights to the recordings, audio, and media you create with the Service ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, process, encode, and deliver Your Content solely to operate the Service for you (including AI editing and CDN delivery).
We do not claim ownership of Your Content. We do not use Your Content to train foundation AI models without your explicit opt-in.
5. AI features
The Service uses third-party AI models (including Google Gemini and ElevenLabs) to provide features such as automatic editing, voice analysis, and dubbing. AI outputs may contain errors or artifacts. You are responsible for reviewing and approving any AI-generated output before publishing or sharing it.
6. Fees & billing
The Chrome extension is free to install. Certain features (AI auto-editing, dubbing, extended storage) are metered and may require a paid subscription or credit purchase. Paid plans auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. Refunds are handled case-by-case; contact support within 14 days of purchase.
7. Termination
You may stop using the Service and uninstall the extension at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, fail to pay, or misuse the Service. On termination, we may delete your data after a reasonable grace period.
8. Warranties & liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, SPACEFOX UNIPESSOAL LDA is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost recordings, lost profits, or business interruption. Our total liability is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
9. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced via email or in-product notice at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Disputes will be resolved by the competent courts of Portugal, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights you have in your country of residence.
